Jani studied education at Stellenbosch University starting 2003. After completing her foundation phase degree she decided to pursue her dream of helping unique children fit into a school system and studied further. While completing her Honours degree in Learning Support at Stellenbosch University she started working at a wonderful school in Bellville as a Gr R teacher. The motivation to start her masters degree came from her love for children and animals. Jani completed her masters degree with the research based on the use of animals to positively effect behaviour amongst children in the class. After doing a course on Human Animal Interaction at University of Pretoria, Jani knew she was were she should be.

She started the private practice PALS from home in Strand. After having her first born she opened the practice at ARA Therapy and Learning in Strand. Working closely with speech therapists, Occupation therapists and educational psychologists she grew more knowledgeable on the support for learners in totality.

Jani worked part time at a school in Stellenbosch and more recently at a school in Strand while running the private practice. She now is a mother of two boys and a girl.  They have many pets that fill the household. Running is currently her favourite hobby, enjoys outdoors with her husband and exploring ideas on healthy living and raising happy children.
